■Know more

Quan Hongchan(全紅蟬), a 17-year-old Chinese diver, has quickly made a name for herself on the world stage. At just 14, she debuted at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, her first international competition. There, she won gold in the women's 10m platform event, becoming China's second-youngest Olympic champion.

At the 2024 Paris Olympics, she defended her title and won another gold with her teammate in the women's synchronised 10m event, making her a double gold medalist.

Raised in a rural village as the daughter of a farmer, Quan was scouted by a coach at age 7 for her exceptional jumping ability. Diving became her passion, driven not only by love for the sport but also by a desire to help pay her mother's medical bills. She trains relentlessly, and strives for perfection, aiming to win Olympic medals and the monetary rewards that come with them. With her enthusiasm and motivation, she pulls herself together despite facing many challenges.
