Used to say that someone is pleased / annoyed with you.
e.g I helped doing housework this morning so I'm in mother's good books.
◆Can read somebody like a book
You know them so well that you immediately know what they are thinking or feeling.
e.g The teacher always knows when I'm lying. He can read me like a book.
◆Don't judge a book by its cover
You should not form an opinion based only on the way something looks.
e.g The restaurant may look cramped and old, but don't judge a book by its cover - the food is delicious!
