【明報專訊】一片白皚皚的雪地，孩子忙着堆雪人、擲雪球，玩樂過後回到屋裏，廣漠的雪地只剩下雪人，它看到些什麼？這個天真爛漫的問題，在美國詩人華萊士•史蒂文斯(Wallace Stevens，1879-1955)的這首The Snow Man(《雪人》)裏，成了一個嚴肅的哲學題目。
◆The Snow Man 詩文
1＞ One must have a mind of winter
2＞ To regard1 the frost2 and the boughs3
3＞ Of the pine trees crusted4 with snow;
4＞ And have been cold a long time
5＞ To behold5 the junipers6 shagged7 with ice,

6＞ 以及那粗曠的雲杉，遠遠的閃亮
