【明報專訊】Usain Bolt (保特) is a Jamaican sprinter who specialises in 100 m and 200 m. When he was a child, he was always active, and often ran to a neighbouring town to play.
He made himself known to the world at the 2002 World Junior Championships in Athletics (世界青年田徑錦標賽). By winning the 200 m gold medal a month before his sixteenth birthday, he became the youngest world-junior champion ever.
He achieved his most notable successes, however, when he broke world records and won Olympic gold medals. Bolt is the world-record holder of 100 m (9.58 seconds), 200 m (19.19 seconds) and, together with his team-mates, 4 X 100 m (36.84 seconds). He won a total of six gold medals in the last two Olympiads. Don't you remember the 100 m final in Beijing Olympics in 2008? He completed that race with his shoelaces untied.
Apart from running, Bolt enjoys playing cricket, and he is a big fan of Manchester United (曼聯).
