【明報專訊】I am 17 years old and come from Denmark, a Scandinavian Country. I did not have much cultural shock upon arriving in Hong Kong because I knew a lot about Asian culture. Nevertheless, crowds in Hong Kong have indeed shocked me. If you can survive in Hong Kong, you can survive anywhere!
I have also been shocked by education in Hong Kong. It is really crazy that students must start learning in kindergarten. When I was 6, I was running around playing with my friends almost all day and go to bed at 8pm. But 6-year-olds in Hong Kong must study almost all day and go to bed at 10pm or 11pm！I am to a certain extent happy that I am not a Hong Kong child. It is just too stressing to be one.
There have been ups and downs in my exchange here in Hong Kong. If I have to recall my best memory here, it will undoubtedly be my day when I played Halloween games in Ocean Park. I went there with four of my best school friends. We had lots of fun and I will never forget it. I also had fun on the school's sports day！That was a fantastic day. I even won a bronze medal at the javelin(標槍)！Having lived here four months, I can understand most of my classmates' daily conversations in Cantonese. Moreover, I know I am getting mature because I can take care of myself in Hong Kong. This is a big thing to me.
Food is great here. My favourites are bubble tea, milk tea, tofu, frozen yogurt and dim sum, which are either terribly expensive or unavailable in Denmark. Apart from good school friends, I have made some good friends at AFS. My closest AFS friends come from Canada and Germany. I will definitely miss them all after the year.
