Dentists diagnose (診斷), treat and prevent oral diseases. They sometimes perform dental surgeries to remove decayed teeth, fill in the cavities and repair damaged teeth. Apart from carrying out dental surgeries and examining oral health, dentists also advise their patients on dental health.

How to become a dentist ?
Dentists often cope with emergencies. Hence, not only should dentists be acquainted with different types of oral diseases, but they should also be familiar with the steps to perform first-aid treatments. Besides the professional qualifications, personal qualities are also of the essence of the occupation. Dentists should be able to use medical equipment in a meticulous (一絲不苟的) manner, and they should exercise perfect hand-eye coordination.
