■English highway﹕ Direct and indirect objects
Some transitive verbs take two objects. The first noun phrase following the verb is the direct object (dO) and the second noun phrase is the indirect object (iO). Other phrases (e.g. adjective/ prepositional/ adverbial phrases) are NOT objects.
