Know more

We all know that Neil Armstrong stepped off Apollo 11 and walked on the Moon in 1969. He was an astronaut from NASA.

NASA stands for National Aeronautics and Space Administration. It is an American governmental organisation which has been working on space science and technology since 1958. NASA launches spacecraft to explore space to gather important data related to the universe and climate change. Crews of astronauts, scientists, engineers and robots fly into space to carry out missions, such as taking soil samples and photos.

NASA's spacecrafts also take satellites into space to orbit Earth and collect information. Recently, NASA has successfully changed an asteroid's orbit by hitting it with a spacecraft. Now, NASA is preparing for a Mars mission, in the hope of landing the first humans on it soon.
