【明報專訊】The Incident On March 1 eight knife-wielding men launched an attack at a railway station in Kunming (昆明), killing 29 civilians and injuring 130 others. Witnesses said the attackers wore black uniforms with a crescent and star logo, commonly used by the Xinjiang Independence Movement (疆獨運動), which advocates the secession (分裂) of Xinjiang from China. The authorities have called the incident a terrorist attack and blamed Xinjiang separatists for it. Radical Islamic groups in Xinjiang were involved in a number of terrorist attacks including the one that happened in Tiananmen Square in October 2013. Some are worried that terrorist attacks may happen not only in Xinjiang but also in other places in the country. Four attackers were shot dead, and the other four were arrested. The group is said to have been led by Abdurehim Kurban (阿不都熱依木•庫爾班).
