The following 4 words starting with the prefix ''th-'' always make people confused.
Through (preposition, adverb)
Meaning 1: place
From one end or side of something to the other.
E.g. We drove through the tunnel.
Meaning 2: time
From the beginning to the end of a period of time.
E.g. We have gone through years of financial difficulties.
Though (conjunction)
Meaning 1: but
E.g. I play the piano tolerably well, though I have no particular talent for it.
Meaning 2: despite the fact that
E.g. Even though she hasn't really got the time, she still offered to help.
Thought (verb, noun)
Meaning 1: verb
As the past simple and past participle of ''think''.
E.g. I thought I heard a scream.
Meaning 2: noun
The act of thinking about or considering something, an idea or opinion, or a set of ideas about a particular subject.
E.g. He took a minute or two to compose his thoughts before he replied.
Thorough (adjective)
Meaning: detailed and careful
E.g. We did a thorough spring clean of the house.
