Suffix "-ness"

When "-ness" is added to the end of an adjective, it forms a noun that refers to the state, quality or condition.

E.g.

Ill → illness

Aware → awareness

Blind → blindness

Happy → happiness

■Gear up

1. We can't buy ________ (happy/happiness/happily).

2. He thinks about the girl when he is feeling _________ (lonely/loneliness)

3. He tried to fight the ________ (sleep/sleepiness/sleepy) during the class.
