¡i©ú³ø±M°T¡jToday is the International Chernobyl Disaster Remembrance Day (°ê»Ú¤Áº¸¿Õ¨©º¸¨aÃø¬ö©À¤é). It reminds us that technologies, especially those of nuclear power generation, have their pros and cons.
In March 2011, a nuclear incident as serious as the Chernobyl disaster occurred at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant (ºÖ®q²Ä¤@®Ö¹q¼t), Japan. While most people who lived near the power plant managed to escape, many animals were left in the vicinity. A cat lover, photojournalist Yasusuke Ota volunteered to feed and rescue homeless animals in the evacuation zone.
Ota published Photos of the Abandoned Animals ¡X Inside Radius Evacuation Zone, Fukushima, a photo album recording the lives of puppies, horses, cats and many other creatures in that deserted zone. Through the impressive photos, Ota encourages us to reflect upon the impacts human activities have had on nature.
