Bill: I can't wait to play against the Little Tigers this Saturday! How long will we play?
Pat: The match is one and a half hours long. It will run (1) from 1 to 2.30pm. But we will have lunch with the players of the Little Tigers before the match. So we have to arrive early.
MoMo: Good, we can learn more about how they improve their techniques. I know that they have gone (2) from the bottom to the top five in the junior community league in two seasons. They must have worked very hard.
Bill: I heard that they have a new coach. He was a famous footballer who played (3) between 2003 and 2013. I hope we can win the match.
Pat: Let's practise more then! I don't want to look bad in the game! Mr Thomson said there may be (4) between 100 and 200 spectators!
■English highway﹕between ... and / from ... to
''Between ... and'' and ''from ... to'' are both used to describe a range of time, amount or measurements. Remember ''between'' is used with ''and'' and ''from'' is used with ''to''.
e.g. Mandy was the class monitor from January to March.
The two phrases can also describe relationship between two people/ places/ objects.
e.g. His family moved from France to Germany.
