【明報專訊】Traditionally, students learn in classrooms and do their assignments at home. There is a new way of learning called "flipped classrooms (Flip)"(翻轉課室), which reverses the traditional teaching and learning concept. It allows students to learn key concepts with videos posted online before coming to class for discussions. Ha Chi-hung (夏志雄), IT Panel Head of True Light Middle School of Hong Kong, adopted Flip in 2012. He used to upload the instructive videos to YouTube for students' self learning. "Such a video lasts 5 minutes at most, each showing the solution of a mathematical problem, Bright students may not have to watch the whole video, and weak students may go through the concept again and again," Ha said. Flip allows students to have more time for hands-on work in class. Ha finds Flip useful in making the classroom time more flexible. He can give students harder problems to solve in class and help students having difficulty individually. ★Glossary reverse (v)……翻轉 adopt (v)……採用 go through (v)……從頭到尾閱讀 flexible (adj)……靈活的
