Career：Customer relationship management analyst
【明報專訊】Have you ever received emails or text messages from shops you have visited before? Or have you seen any similar advertisements of restaurants you like on Instagram or YouTube? This is part of what a CRM analyst does!
Customer relationship management (CRM) has become a new way of marketing for businesses thanks to the increasing popularity of computerised records. Shops promote membership (會員) programmes to customers, which offer gifts or redemption plans, in exchange for their consent to shops' collection of personal information.
CRM analysts then make use of the data collected from your shopping history to find out what you buy most, what you have bought recently, and what you like. They will then divide the consumers into different groups or consumer segments (消費族群).
Analysts then work with marketing professionals to develop promotion programs for specific consumer groups, and deliver them to the target customers. That's why you will see advertisements of products similar to what you are interested in.
