【明報專訊】你好!My name is Margherita. I'm Italian, and I came to Hong Kong about three months ago as an AFS exchange student. My host Mum is excellent at cooking. She has taught me how to make Chinese food. She has also told me a lot of interesting facts of Chinese tradition. Besides, I like playing badminton with my host Dad. We sometimes practise Chinese calligraphy too.
I enjoy playing mahjong (麻將) with my relatives. I like it because, to win the game, one must concentrate and think strategically and at the same time analyse one's opponents' strategies.
A few months ago, I met my uncles, aunties and cousins at Chung Yeung Festival. I have learnt something about my parents' ancestors and how people show them their respect. Speaking of worshipping we don't have in Italy as many gods as we do in Hong Kong. I have already visited many traditional temples with my host Mum.
I like dim-sum very much. I'm addicted to the custard bun (奶黃包)! I can have it no more when I am in Italy again! I'll certainly miss this delicacy.
plan to learn Cantonese
I'm having a wonderful experience and everything seems interesting. My plan now is to try to learn Cantonese.
