【明報專訊】The Women's Baseball World Cup (世界盃女子棒球賽) took place between September 3 and September 11 in South Korea. Japan won the championship. Baseball is a game played between two teams of nine players each. They take turns batting and fielding on the baseball field.
Big words
At-bat (打數) - A batter's turn to bat against a pitcher.
Hit (安打) - When a batter strikes the baseball into fair territory and safely reaches first base.
Home run (全壘打) - When a batter hits a fair ball so far that he has time to run all four corners of the field before it is returned. The common type of home run is hitting the ball over the outfield fence in fair territory.
