News corner﹕Prince William's China trip
【明報專訊】The Duke of Cambridge (劍橋公爵) Prince William (威廉王子) had his first trip in China in early March to promote cultural exchange. He is the first senior British royal family member to visit China since Queen Elizabeth II's tour in 1986.
Britain's Prince William visited Beijing, Shanghai and Yunnan province. He met President Xi Jinping (習近平) in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing and had meetings with renowned Chinese business leaders.
Prince William is a football fan. In Shanghai, he watched schoolchildren in a football session with coaches trained by England's Premier League (英超聯) clubs. He told the children to keep on working hard, and they might meet David Beckham in the future.
The Duke also attended the premiere of the British film Paddington in China. He ended his four-day visit in Yunnan, where he visited Wild Elephant Valley and spoke on wildlife conservation.
