World：Wearing your trash
【明報專訊】Adventurer, activist and humanitarian Rob Greenfield (格林菲爾德) started a project called "Trash Me" in New York (紐約) on September 19. He ate, shopped and consumed the way an average American does and collected and carried every single piece of garbage he generated in a month on his specially made suit.
According to his website, "the average American creates 4.5 pounds of trash a day." In the thirty days, Greenfield ate fast foods like pizzas, hamburgers, fries and drank sodas as most Americans do. He put the food packages, empty cups and cans in his transparent suit. He carried them with him when he walked on the streets.
Greenfield hoped the project would inspire people to produce less trash. "Trash is out of sight, out of mind. Most of us throw it in the garbage can and we never think about it again," he said. In the month, Greenfield and his team of filmmakers made some videos and live streaming.
