【明報專訊】Travelling around does not always means riding a bus or a train. Explore these countries as the locals do!

•Tuk-tuk

A three-wheeled auto-rickshaw (人力車), the tuk-tuk is commonly seen in Asian countries but it is most famous in Thailand. The name tuk-tuk mimicks the sound of the small engine in the bike part of the vehicle. While tuk-tuk is a cheap and convenient alternative to taxi for tourists and locals, many drivers use it to transport goods like veggies and grocery. (photo.1)

•Norry

Once a war-torn country, Cambodians made use of what was left from the colonial (殖民) period. The Norry, a bamboo train running on existing train rails, was a simple and economical option for locals to travel between towns and villages. The service was terminated in 2017 but is now restored for tourism purposes.

•Schwebebahn

In the western German city of Wuppertal (烏帕塔), you may feel like living in a sci-fi world thanks to the Schwebebahn. It is a suspension railway that runs overhead and the train runs under the elevated rails instead of running on it.
