¡i©ú³ø±M°T¡jImagine how exciting it will be to swim across the Victoria Harbour with thousands of people!
The Harbour Race will be held on 29 October this year. A throwback to the classic cross-harbour race route, the new route will stretch from Tsim Sha Tsui Public Pier to Wan Chai Golden Bauhinia Square Public Pier. About 3,000 contestants will swim approximately 1km across Victoria Harbour. The iconic sporting event was held annually from 1906 to 1978, and was relaunched in 2011.
While you may wear bikini or T-shirts when you go swimming for leisure, swimmers attending the Harbour Race must wear only one swimsuit in one or two pieces. Swimwear for both men and women shall not cover the neck, extend past the shoulders or go below the ankles. Swimmers are not allowed to wear any jewellery. Equipment that may aid their speed or endurance such as fins and paddles is also prohibited.
