The daughter of the celebrated showbiz couple Takuya Kimura (木村拓哉) and Shizuka Kudo (工藤靜香), Kōki, born Mitsuki Kimura (木村光希), is a fashion model gaining fame rapidly. Kōki's father Takuya, a legendary singer-actor, once explicitly claimed that he had voiced his objection to Kōki's decision to join the showbiz, but Kōki insisted and debuted as a fashion model in May 2018, making her the youngest spokesperson for a number of well-known brands.

As the daughter of well-known parents, Kōki attracts occasional controversy. Because of her popularity, Kōki was awarded the Elle Girl Rising Star award in a cinema award ceremony. Netizens challenged the validity of her winning the award, arguing that Kōki had not acted or appeared in any film yet. (photo.2)
Kōki was invited by the Japan Newspaper Association to participate in their campaign to promote the importance of the print media in Japan. Kōki, pronouncing one Japanese phonetic character in each photo, was on the front page of 74 Japanese newspapers on 15 October, 2018. (photo.3)
