Sports﹕Ng On Yee
【明報專訊】Ng On Yee (吳安儀), a 25-year-old Hong Kong snooker player, is the first Asian woman who has ever been crowned champion at the IBSF World Ladies Snooker Championship (IBSF世界業餘桌球錦標賽女子組). She won it in 2009. Ng grew up in Tai Po and went to a secondary school in Tai Wo. She turned professional in 2007 after she had finished form 5.
Ng indulged in playing computer games when she was young. However, she developed an interest in snooker when she was 13. She learnt to play it from her father, who managed a snooker club on Hong Kong Island. On April 1 this year, Ng and her partner Katrina Wan (溫家琪) won the Ladies Pairs championship at the World Ladies Snooker Championship 2016 (世界女子桌球錦標賽), which took place in Leeds, the UK (英國列斯).
