¡i©ú³ø±M°T¡jYou need not travel a long way to Australia to see cuddly koalas as three of them have moved to Hong Kong.

The group of koalas from south Australia comprises one male and two females. They now meet the public at Adventures in Australia (¡u¿D¬w¾ú©_¡v), a new attraction in Ocean Park. One of the female koalas' name, Yani (±y±y), was chosen by the public in the Koala Naming Campaign. The other two retain the names they were given at birth. They are called Dougie (º³º³) and Merinda (¬ü¬ü).

The koalas have adapted well to their new home in Hong Kong. They feed on eucalyptus leaves (¤×¥[§Q¸), mainly sourced from Ocean Park's eucalyptus farms in China. They have to sleep at least 18 to 20 hours a day and are sensitive to noise. Visitors are reminded to keep quiet during their visits.

In addition to the three koalas, Adventures in Australia features red-necked wallabies (¬õÀV³U¹«) and laughing kookaburras (¯º»A³¾). (source: Ming Pao, Ocean Park)
