"Monkey Buffet" Festival
The "Monkey Buffet" Festival is held annually in late November in Lopburi, one of the oldest cities in Thailand. It is a massive buffet providing more than a thousand kilograms of delicious food for hundreds of local monkeys. People in Lopburi believes that monkeys bring good luck and fortune. The monkeys living there get used to be fed by people and they show no fear of humans. They may steal whatever items or food they can find from unwary visitors. (See photo C)
