【明報專訊】The Smarties have decided to celebrate their previous victory over Eason. Where are they heading?

“ Pat: I'm so excited. I've never been to The Peak. ”

“ Bill: I'm also so thrilled even though I've been here before. ”

“ Dr Panda: Just relax and enjoy our ride. I promise that it will be so much fun. ”

“ MoMo: See! The skyscrapers are all tilted. ”

“ Pat: Yes, we're like flying! ”

“ Bill: I would rather take the bus than take the Peak Tram! ”

■English highway﹕Even though

''Even though'' is used to connect two contrasting ideas. It is a synonym of ''though'' and ''although'' but it makes a stronger contrast. We can also put it at the beginning of the sentence.

e.g. She did not win even though she tried her best.

Even though it is raining, I am going out.

■Know more

The Peak Tram runs between the lower terminus in Central and the upper terminus at The Peak. Passengers can enjoy the stunning city view on their way. It has a long history of over 130 years. In the past, the first two seats were reserved for the Governor of Hong Kong. Nowadays, it is one of the most popular attractions in Hong Kong among locals and tourists. The Peak Tram is also one of the steepest railways in the world. Passengers can experience a visual illusion that the buildings appear to be tilted.
