◆Genres
Concerts of classical music are usually held in cultural venues or town halls (大會堂). There are usually instrumental recitals (演奏會), choirs, chamber music (室樂), or fine music vocal performances.

Pop concerts are usually held in sports stadiums or convention halls (會議廳) because these venues offer a larger capacity. Some pop idols, rock bands and other artists of various genres may also have tours (巡迴演出) in various venues in different cities to meet their fans. (picture 2)
◆Mysterious number
The largest concert venue in Hong Kong is the AsiaWorld-Expo, Arena (亞洲國際博覽館Arena), which can house 14,000 seats. It also has a high ceiling clearance ( 樓底) of 19 metres.
◆The trend
Outdoor music festivals are becoming popular because they offer a wider variety of music choices in one go. There are also more outdoor venues available in Hong Kong, such as the Tamar Park and the West Kowloon Cultural District (picture). Outdoor music festivals are usually accompanied by (伴隨)refreshment and other non-musical entertainments, making them nice occasions to hang out with friends and families. (photo.4)
