Express﹕The legendary contest
【明報專訊】W. C. Jefferson loves listening to the Chinese zodiac(生肖) story. When he became a father, he wanted to tell the story to his own kids, but he soon discovered that he could not find many books on the market that were about the legend or about the order in which the animals were placed in the Chinese zodiac.
He took the opportunity to create a modern version of the classical tale with positive messages and lessons. The result is The Great Zodiac Race and The Zodiac Race series, which highlight the legendary contest in which 13 different animals compete. The first 12 winners will receive their own zodiac signs. Who will grab the first place and who will be the last?
The series consists of nine books. In each story, the animals face the same set of obstacles but they tackle them very differently. Will the fastest animals like the Tiger and the Horse come first for sure? What about the mystical Dragon who can fly, or the Dog with his endless energy?
