■Culture tips
Pingxi Lantern Festival
At the Pingxi Lantern Festival, thousands of uniquely decorated hot air lanterns are released into the sky. People usually write their wishes on their sky lanterns. It is believed that the gods above will know what your wishes are after your lantern has gone into the sky. The festival is also held annually during Chinese New Year to mark the Spring Lantern Festival (元宵節)。
■English highway﹕definitely
