A better place to do check-ins
【明報專訊】Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) at Chek Lap Kok was opened in 1998, and it ranks fifth in the latest annual world rankings of the best airports. As one of the world's leading airports, HKIA uses latest technology to improve passenger services and airport operations.
There are a number of smart airport initiatives available at HKIA. For example, more than 100 self bag drop counters are currently in operation which help to reduce check-in time to around one minute. Passengers can also download the "HKG My Flight" mobile app to get real-time flight information and boarding alerts.
HKIA will soon operate at full capacity. To meet future air traffic growth, the construction of the third runway is now in progress. As part of the redevelopment programme, Terminal 2 is expected to be closed for expansion in 2019.
