Yuri's Night
Widely known as the first man to travel into outer space(外太空), Yuri Gagarin(加加林) (1934-1968) was a pioneering figure in human history. There have been many celebrations commemorating his notable achievements, including Yuri's Night, a festival held annually on 12 April since 2001. It was created by several NASA scientists, who hold parties and various events, and is organised by a group of enthusiastic space specialists and lovers nowadays. People around the world are welcome to hold their own Yuri's Night by registering on yurisnight.net. For example, people organise geocoaching, a kind of orienting and educational activity making use of the GPS to find hidden gems.
