【明報專訊】Race walking (競步) is an athletics event competed on the international level. It is featured in the Olympic Games. MTR Hong Kong Race Walking 2016 (港鐵競步賽2016) takes place on October 23 in Chater Road, Central (中環遮打道). Rules Race walkers may look funny when they compete, but there is a reason. Either of a competitor's feet must be in contact with the ground at any time during a race. The advancing leg must also be straightened from the moment of first contact with the ground until in the vertical upright position. Therefore, a race walker must rotate his pelvis (盤骨) when he walks. That is why he looks as if he were dancing!
