【明報專訊】One Thousand and One Nights (《一千零一夜》), also known as The Arabian Nights, is a collection of Arabic short stories. The main frame story concerns a Persian King who marries a succession of girls only to execute every one of them the next morning. The girl Scheherazade offers herself as the next bride, and begins to tell the king a wonderful tale without telling him the ending. The king must postpone her execution to learn how it ends, and that goes on for 1001 nights.
