【明報專訊】Earlier at the stage of the soft opening of Universal Studios Beijing, some ticket scalpers saw the business opportunity and resold the tickets at extremely high prices. Noticing the loophole, the company now requires a ticket holder to verify their identity before they can enter the park. The Beijing government also reported that a few ticket scalpers had been detained because of their disturbance to others' business.

Beijing Tourism Group expects that the establishment of the Park will strongly stimulate the local economy. The hotels nearby are almost fully booked and the relevant services nearby like restaurants and resorts are expected to benefit from the establishment of the Park.

Think about this

We can see ticket scalpers almost on every occasion that involves ticket selling. What is ticket scalping? If you can not purchase the tickets from the official organizer, will you buy scalped tickets?

A harm to patriotism?

Despite the deteriorating Sino-US relationship and the promotion of patriotism in China, some customers said they were not affected by the worsening situation. A customer claimed that some areas in the Park were specifically adapted to suit the Chinese culture and tourists, hence he was not afraid of being said to embrace the American culture. He believed that it was an illustration of inclusiveness and diversity. (photo.2)
