Horizon:Soda flavours around the world
【明報專訊】Soft drinks are widely consumed around the world. Surprisingly, there are actually a vast variety of flavours. Some of them are quite unusual!
◆Japan - Cucumber, Blue Hawaii, Ramune
THE famous coke brand Pepsi released the cucumber flavour in Japan in 2007. It was a limited edition so it is now nowhere to be found.
Apart from Pepsi Ice Cucumber, Pepsi Blue Hawaii was also released in 2008 as a limited edition. The blue drink tasted like pineapples and lemons.
Besides, the Japanese carbonated soft drink ''Ramune''(波子汽水) often releases surprising flavours. Those limited editions included curry, bubble gum, cotton candy, banana, wasabi, etc.
◆Tunisia - Boga Cider
THERE are altogether four flavours of carbonated drinks under the brand name ''Boga''. One of them is the mint flavour. The drink is bright green. Another unusual flavour under the same brand is the cider flavour. It is made with a plant called carob(長角豆). The drink is dark brown. Some people say it tastes like bananas.
◆Greece - Green Cola
IN Greece, Green Cola is widely enjoyed. Unlike its name, Green Cola is not green. It looks very similar to the usual cola. After its original release in Greece, it is now available in other countries such as Germany, Spain and the United Kingdom.
