DIY:Caramelised bananas
【明報專訊】Sometimes you want to enjoy your fruits in a different way. How do caramelised bananas sound to you?
◆Ingredients
.banana
.sugar
.unsalted
.butter
(1) Peel the banana and half it lengthwise.
(2) Preheat a dry pan for a while and spread sugar on it. Gently stir the sugar when it melts and turns into a brown syrup.
(3) Add in butter and make a sauce.
(4) Place the banana with the sliced face down onto the area with the sauce. Make sure the sauce covers the banana.
(5) Let the banana cook for three to four minutes until the caramelised sugar hardens on the banana.
◆Tips
˙Do not cook the sugar for too long or it will have a bitter taste.
˙Choose a banana that is ripe. An overripe banana will smear (變黏稠) when you cooking it. A banana that is not ripe enough is hard to slice.
