News feed:''Blessed'' oil created turmoil
【明報專訊】A stampede during a church service in Tanzania (坦桑尼亞) resulted in at least 20 deaths. The tragedy happened at a stadium, where thousands of people wanted to be offered ''blessed'' oil (「福油」). A pastor (牧師) was arrested before attempting to escape. In recent years, some pastors in the country claimed that they could treat people with a miracle cure.
The virus benefited mobile games
CHINA's economy is suffering from the coronavirus outbreak, while the mobile game industry is growing. This is understandable, since most people could only stay home and indulge in the tiny screen. Take PUBG Mobile《絕地求生》, the most lucrative game during the outbreak. The outbreak, together with its seasonal promotion, boosted its revenue in January about fourfold year on year. (photo.2)
High tech shoes
A prototype of Nike's new Vaporfly, a product line of high tech running shoes, has been banned by World Athletics (世界田徑) from professional competitions. After late April, shoes with new technology need to be on sale for four months before they can be used in competition. The Vaporfly prototype has thicker soles (鞋底), which let the athlete win more easily and are much more powerful than Nike claimed.
