【明報專訊】MoMo saw Pat working in the laboratory. Pat is conducting some experiments on the characteristics of water.
MoMo: Hey Pat! What are you doing here?
Pat:I am conducting an experiment on heat.
MoMo: What have you observed?
Pat: I have discovered that if we heat water to 100℃, it boils.
MoMo: This is hilarious! We all know water boils at 100℃! You should conduct some more advanced experiments.
Pat:I know this experiment is too simple, but Dr Panda does not allow me to join his experiment on the latest weapon against Eason.
MoMo: He is right! You will blow up the laboratory if you work on those experiments!
◆Type zero conditional
if + present simple and present simple
This conditional is used to talk about things that are generally true.
e.g. If we heat ice, it melts.
If you pour oil on water, it floats.
◆ Type one conditional
if + present simple and will/can/may + infinitive
This conditional is used to talk about future situations we believe are real or possible.
e.g. If you are hungry, you may eat an apple.
If MoMo is late, I will be mad.
