DIY:Unicorn bookmark
【明報專訊】A cute bookmark encourages reading. However, an ordinary rectangular bookmark is quite boring. How about making a special one by yourself? This time we are going to make a unicorn corner bookmark which you can fit right over the corner of the page.
Materials and tools
˙One piece of white or cream paper
˙Some coloured paper
˙A pencil
˙A marker pen
˙Scissors
˙Glue
(1)Cut a square of 15cm x 15cm out of a piece of white or cream paper.
(2)Fold the square paper in half diagonally to make a triangle. Turn the triangle so that the straight edge is facing downwards.
(3)Fold one top corner downwards to meet the straight edge. You can see three triangles along the bottom side now. This will be the pocket for your bookmark.
(4)Fold each of the bottom corners of the triangle upwards to the top corner to make a diamond shape.
(5)Fold one of the triangles in half and tuck the upper half of the pocket. Do the same to the other triangle.
(6)Make some flowers and leaves for decoration by cutting the coloured paper.
(7)Prepare the ear parts and the horn. Stick the inner ear parts on the outer ear parts. Stick the ears and the horn on the back side of the book-
mark.
(8)Use a marker pen to draw the eyes. Finished!
■Quick tips
