【明報專訊】Mathematics is much more than doing calculations. Professor Leung Koon-shing, Frederick (梁貫成) of the Faculty of Education at the University of Hong Kong says parents can nurture children's interest in maths by asking them questions and encouraging them to think more about the relationships of things in our daily lives. For example, parents may move a piece of furniture at home, and ask, "Is that corner spacious enough for the coffee table?" The scenario creates a good chance for children to learn to measure and develop their spatial sense.
