【明報專訊】The Phantom of the Opera (《歌聲魅影》), one of the most popular musicals, will be showing in Hong Kong in December. The Smarties can't wait to do a rehearsal of their own.
The Phantom of the Opera is acclaimed as Andrew Lloyd Webber's most successful musical. It has played to more than 140 million people in thirty countries since it premiered in London in 1986, and it remains the longest-running show on Broadway. It now continues to play in both London and New York.
The story is about a mysterious man known only as the Phantom who lives in the sewers underneath the Paris Opera House. He privately tutors Christine, a chorus girl whom he has fallen in love with and, terrorising the rest of the opera house, demands that she be given lead roles.
