Talk of the town : The second auto carpark in Hong Kong

[2023.03.22] µoªí
Compared with the traditional carpark spaces, such puzzle-typed parking systems are not only convenient for parking and retrieving cars, but are also capable of doubling the parking spaces in the carpark.

¡i©ú³ø±M°T¡jThe automated parking system installed in a short-term tenancy carpark at Pak Shek Kok started in late December 2022. In view of huge demand for parking spaces and land shortage, the government has aimed to increase the number of parking spaces and the spatial efficiency of Hong Kong by launching automated carparks.

The automated parking systems in Tsuen Wan and Pak Shek Kok have the benefits of low cost, low noise and ease of installation. Compared with the traditional carpark, these automated parking systems not only make parking easier, but also double the number of parking spaces.

These automated parking systems will be set up at Tseung Kwan O, San Po Kong, Chai Wan, Sheung Wan and Sham Shui Po in the near future.

By providing more parking spaces in Hong Kong, they can help bring down parking costs, thus relieving the problem of illegal parking, which causes traffic obstructions and poses danger to other road users.
