【明報專訊】There are a lot of ethnic Chinese around the world and they have their own special ways to celebrate Chinese New Year! Singaporeans and Malaysian Chinese kick off their new year with "Yusheng", a raw fish salad that symbolises surplus and prosperity.
◆Ingredients
.sliced
.salmon sashimi
.cucumber
.carrot
.ham
.sesame
.seeds
.pomelo vinegar(柚子醋)(seasoning)
.lime juice(seasoning)
1. Boil the ham.
2. Shred the ham together with cooked carrot and cucumber.
3. Place the salmon sashimi at the centre of a large plate.
4. Arrange the ham, cooked carrot and cucumber around the salmon on the dish.
5. Sprinkle the sesame seeds and seasonings on top.
Serve and mix them up with your family and friends!
Reminder
Remember to keep the dish refrigerated before consumption and finish the dish soon.
Quick tip
You can add some white pepper and olive oil to the seasonings, or use plum sauce (梅子醬) instead of pomelo vinegar.
