Known as Bangtan Boys, BTS made their debut in 2013 with a contemporary K-pop sound that fuses hip-hop, electronica and rock. The boy band is one of the first groups to fully embrace social media and completely open themselves up to fans. The members not only frequently update their Twitter accounts, but also interact with their global fans through regular live streams, with English subtitles for international audiences.

BTS' s new song DNA has entered the music streaming service Spotify's Global Top 50 chart at No. 50. The chart reflects the daily ranking of songs on Spotify that have been released from all over the world. They are the first Korean artists to enter the chart.

BTS got the Top Social Artist award at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards, thanks to their massive fan base. BTS fans, known as the "A.R.M.Y.", voted on Twitter and the website of the awards, using the hashtag #BTSBBMAS more than 300 million times.
