■ Culture tips

Most modern cities have good transport systems. There people usually drive or travel by bike, bus, train, tram or taxi. Venice (in northeastern Italy) is the largest car-free city in Europe. There you travel either on foot or by boat. Venice's public transport operates on sea and canals. In the city there are water buses, water taxis and gondolas (traditional Venetian rowing boats) that serve locals and tourists.
