■Know more

Every day, we produce a lot of waste which end up in landfills. However, dumping waste in landfills is not a good solution because they will become full. Besides, too much waste causes different types of pollution and leads to climate change. By reducing waste, we can help ease the waste problem and protect the environment.

Here are some easy ways to reduce waste:

1. Recycle. Place waste paper, plastic containers and metal cans into their respective recycling bin.

2. Bring our own bags for grocery shopping.

3. Buy and use reusable bottles, cups, cutlery and straws.

4. Buy and use less. We can buy less by borrowing, swopping and repairing.

5. Repurpose. Try to create useful items from used items. For example, old T-shirts can be transformed into bags.
