【明報專訊】Hi, I am Chattie. I am a cloud. I have been travelling around the world and have seen a lot of people and places.

Have you learnt any kind of dances since I talked about them? I've learnt a new one. Last Sunday, I went to a grand party and I danced waltz with a very beautiful raincloud. I think she is a good dance partner because she dances very well. And the dance music was so romantic that I didn't want to leave the dance floor. I thought the party was wonderful, but I didn't know I would have a better experience right after it!

After the party, I was so excited that I flew like a roller-coaster in the sky. Suddenly, I saw a banner hanging on a wall of the Cultural Centre (文化中心). It was about a show but I couldn't find out what kind of show it was from the banner. I flew into the Cultural Centre and asked a box office clerk what the show was about. She said it was a multi-media show. I was interested in it. Multi-media shows are new and quite rare in Hong Kong. I certainly wouldn't miss it. I bought a ticket and went in the theatre.

The amazing experience started as soon as the house lights were out. In the dark, a man glowed. Yeah, you heard it right. The man glowed like a light bulb. While he was dancing, he split into five men and danced together like robots. The number of men dancing kept changing and I had no idea where they came from. They appeared and disappeared like ghosts. In the second scene, an actress chatted with a person on the screen. They sat as if they were having dinner in a restaurant. To remind you, there was only one real actress but it seemed there were two because the actress was interacting with the person on the screen. Towards the end of that scene, I was too mixed up to tell which of the two was the real actress.

In scene three, the background was a three dimensional space formed by projections. The background changed in shape, size and colour according to the opera singer's volume and location. In the one and a half hours, I was amazed more than thirty times by what I saw.

As I mentioned before, multi-media shows are new. They have become more and more popular since television was invented. They combine drama, dance, singing, animation and other new technologies.

The traditional culture of seeing stories in the theatre is being altered and there are now more possibilities that give audiences surprises and new thoughts. I should fly to other places to watch more multi-media shows so that I will have a broader view of performing arts.
